Yes, though you might not think of them as dinosaurs. Birds evolved (developed over time) from meat-eating dinosaurs called theropods, so they are technically dinosaurs themselves. The rest of the dinosaurs went extinct (died out) about 65 million years ago, though. A huge asteroid collided with Earth and triggered widespread ecological destruction, causing them to die out. No non-avian dinosaurs are alive today. People have explored the whole world, and scientists have catalogued all of Earth’s large-bodied animals. There is simply nowhere left for them to hide!
